SUMMARY:Classroom Trade
DESCRIPTION:On the fourth Wednesday of every month Jennifer Brand hosts free Classroom Trades. What are classroom trades? One massage therapist performs a full 60-minute massage on another massage therapist in front of other LMTs and students in a classroom environment. It helps massage therapists receive proper massage maintenance\, encourages comradery and friendship\, and provides our peers the opportunity to observe how other practitioners perform massage. \nClassroom Trade Materials\n\nThis classroom experience may focus on an array of classroom trade topics. For further reading material related to this content please explore any of the following links: \n\nBecome a Lantern Bearer\n\nThe next generation of licensed massage therapists need our guidance. They need to be encouraged\, inspired\, and mentored. We need to cultivate them\, show them the pitfalls of the path\, and offer them a hand when they feel too weak to stand. Our industry needs lantern bearers\, experienced professionals available to help our peers when they are lost and in the dark. \nA career in massage therapy can be beautiful. With the right guidance we can encourage the caring souls of our industry to achieve the career of their dreams\, to practice safely\, purposefully\, and peacefully. \nDoing this alone feels impossible\, especially with our busy schedules\, but we can make it happen as a community. We can work together as LMTs to create consortiums and a culture that returns our profession back into the hands of the practitioners. We can improve career longevity\, reduce injury\, burnout\, and improve the public’s perception of massage. \nI love our profession with my entire heart\, and it hurts my spirit every time I see another therapist struggle or suffer in the service of others.
