“You’ve got to feel your feelings”
How many times have you felt your emotions yet didn’t know what to do with them? You just kept looping, feeling overwhelmed, confused and out of control. It didn’t resolve anything. That’s about to change! I’m about to teach you a simple yet powerful process to feel and release your emotions. Quite possibly you could heal core wounds and limiting patterns as well.
If you’re a giver, helper, empath or healer, this process can assist you in realigning to your own energy, so you experience presence, clarity, peace, love, and joy.
Sometimes what we feel is our own stuff – our perception and reactions from our conditioning and traumas. Many other times we are picking up on other people’s stuff as well as global stuff.
We can find our mind spread out, attached to so many people and situations, feeling their energy as our own, unknowingly personalizing it and feeling worn out! In an attempt to care we worry about others and situations in the world. We try to fix, rescue, figure things out, or find a solution. We get so wrapped up in other people’s worlds that we lose a sense of ourselves. We unconsciously try to control other people’s worlds yet have little sense of control over our own.
That stuff is not yours though. You picked it up along our journey from family, teachers, peers, church, and society. You can draw your energy and power back to and let go of what’s not yours. If you hold on to stuff (energy) for too long and it gets stored as tension, tightness, excess weight, or health issues. This stuff is the energy of life and energy wants to move, not get stuck or held on to. Think of energy like water. When water is free flowing it’s fresh, healthy, and powerful yet when it’s sits it becomes stagnant and unhealthy, collecting bacteria and slime.
Free Yourself of Stuck, Stagnant Energy
This abbreviated process I’m about to teach can free you of stuck, stagnant energy so you can be in a connected, free-flowing state where energy/information/intuition flows in as well as out, free and easy.
Are you ready? Scroll down for the short form. Here’s the long form:
Become quiet, ideally in nature. Slow way, WAY down so you can listen, feel, and connect with yourself.
Observe what’s going on inside of you. Be with yourself – your senses, sensations, emotions, thoughts, and meanings. Notice it all.
Be with all the fast paced, buzzing energy that thinks you should be DOING something else, SHOULD be productive, busy, distracted or entertained. Be with the uncomfortable emotions, the pain, then tension.
What’s underneath that? And as you breathe deeper, feel deeper, what’s underneath that? Can you find a core limiting belief such as feeling like you’re not enough or too much?
Continue this exploration as you peel away layer upon layer. Notice how this energy feels in your body. Welcome it in. Let it arise to the surface. Get to know it. Allow it to grow. Breathe into it.
Now, let go of all the thoughts and judgments. Feel ONLY the energy. Allow that to grow.
Eventually, (it could happen immediately) see if your inner being is willing to let some of that energy go…and then a little more…and a little more. Relax and soften even more. Can it all flow out of you? If so, what flows in? Allow that to grow. Allow freedom and openness to flow in and grow. Allow lightness and spaciousness to arise and expand.
Recognize when you find yourself in your head, lost in thoughts, that’s normal and natural. Gently set aside the thoughts and observe the energy and felt sensations they created in your body, specifically your belly, chest, and throat. Relax into it. Welcome it. And see if you can and are willing to let it go, let it flow.
Breathe. Open up. Relax. Allow all to be felt, experienced, and released that is ready to be. Allow the earth to receive it. She knows exactly what to do with it. Trust in the free-flowing nature of Life.
Keep going through this cycle of noticing, feeling, allowing, and letting go until you feel completely free, open, expansive, and attuned to joy, love, and peace. This is the foundation of my weekly self-care nights which lasts 3-6 hours.
Creating this free-flowing state allows sensation/energy/information/intuition to easily flow in and out, to be received and transmitted. It can inform, guide, and enlighten you.
To recap:
1. Notice your experience: thoughts, emotions, bodily sensations, energy. Intensify it by seeing what’s underneath that. Can you uncover a core limiting belief?
2. Remove the thoughts and stay with the uncomfortable energy. Welcome the energy and let it grow.
3. See if you’re ready and willing to let even a little bit go, and then a little more. Your body may begin letting go the minute you remove the thoughts. Allow that.
4. Notice the openness, lightness, softness, relaxation, freedom, peace, love or joy and allow that to grow. Maintain this receptive space of presence as long as possible.
5. Repeat from step 1 when you find yourself in thought again.
