On the fifth Wednesday of every month Jennifer Brand hosts a free massage business class for LMTs and students who either own their own business or would like to start one. It will also cover various business-related topics such as ethics, professionalism, and the state of the massage industry.

Leadership & Business: Whether you are a massage therapist aspiring to start your own business, or an entrepreneur trying to do your own thing, you must become an effective leader. If you are a trailblazer, you must be more than a manager, you must possess the ability to create in a vacuum, have a strong grit, and radiate enthusiasm that encourages liveliness in others. The Meat Grinder of Massage: In this class you will explore the hardships of other massage therapists, the issues of our industry, and the tremulous times we are facing. It is designed to open a dialogue about the future and to create a community of allied wellness professionals. Its goal is to inspire, move, and motivate you to become engaged, empathize, and creativity navigate your career.
Become a Lantern Bearer
The next generation of licensed massage therapists need our guidance. They need to be encouraged, inspired, and mentored. We need to cultivate them, show them the pitfalls of the path, and offer them a hand when they feel too weak to stand. Our industry needs lantern bearers, experienced professionals available to help our peers when they are lost and in the dark.
A career in massage therapy can be beautiful. With the right guidance we can encourage the caring souls of our industry to achieve the career of their dreams, to practice safely, purposefully, and peacefully.
Doing this alone feels impossible, especially with our busy schedules, but we can make it happen as a community. We can work together as LMTs to create consortiums and a culture that returns our profession back into the hands of the practitioners. We can improve career longevity, reduce injury, burnout, and improve the public’s perception of massage.
I love our profession with my entire heart, and it hurts my spirit every time I see another therapist struggle or suffer in the service of others. If you love our magnificent profession join with me.
